How can I get rid of my acne scars?

Posted by admin Posted Date: Wednesday, 10 March 2010 09:26 AM

It’s a sad fact that even once acne has disappeared for good, the scars can remain, and no amount of make-up will cover them all. They lead to you feeling self conscious, and in some cases have been cited as a cause of depression!

It’s easy to spend a fortune on creams and potions that just don’t work, leaving you feeling dejected and like you’re wasting your time.

But there IS an answer – and you can find it at Riverbanks Clinic.

The most effective treatment for acne scarring is laser skin resurfacing, utilising SmartXide DOT therapy. Laser resurfacing works by penetrating the skin beneath each scar to stimulate collagen remodelling and levelling out of the skin as well as improving the overall quality of the skin. When combined with a bespoke skin care regimen as well as some phototherapeutic exposure such as with Omnilux, results are even better.

My patients have been extremely happy with the improvements seen with laser resurfacing. Baby smooth skin is not a realistic goal, but good improvements are common and as a result, my patients report a boost in their confidence. And as long as no more scarring occurs, these results can be permanent!

Dr Ravi Jain was specially invited by DEKA Lasers, manufacturers of SmartXide to attend a meeting of Smartxide users, in London on 31st January 2009. This was the first meeting of its kind in the world, and Smartxide experts discussed treatments and protocols for this amazing technology.
