We’re delighted to let our patients know that Dr Ravi Jain of Riverbanks Clinic has been featured in the Tatler Beauty and Cosmetic Surgery guide.

His entry is featured below – click on the image to see a bigger version and read how they described Dr Jain as ‘clean cut, softly spoken and extremely knowledgeable’, and Riverbanks as ‘possibly the cosiest clinic in the UK’

If you can’t read the image, we have transcribed the copy below:

“Clean-cut, softly spoken and extremely knowledgable, Dr Jain is a rare breed: a country doctor with a big-city pedigree. He runs Riverbanks, possibly the cosiest clinic in the UK. Set in a converted 250-year-old pub in rural Bedfordshire, it boasts five state of the art treatment rooms and an on-site operating theatre. A lot of Dr Jain’s patients are mothers form his daughter’s school – a good endorsement, we think – and consultations are done over coffee, which puts nervous first timers at ease. He is an expert on VASER, a body sculpting technique that uses ultrasound to breakdown fat. You can also seek him outing town, as he visits London weekly to consult at smart rooms in Chelsea*. Consultation £50, Vaser from £2000. Ring 08447047761 or visit riverbanksclinic.co.uk”

If you are one of those fitness fanatics who spend hours at the gym each week and have done so for months if not years, but still can’t see the muscular definition you feel you’ve earned? It just doesn’t seem fair that no matter what you eat or burn off, its never enough? How do those models get that ripped look?

Well, I have it on good authority that a lot of international models choose Vaser Hi-Def to give them the sculpted look they need for their careers. On top of that, many of them ended up as cover models afterwards. Vaser HiDef is not just for models though as many everyday folk are choosing it to satisfy frustrations at the gym, or even boost their fitness regimes.

Vaser HiDef can sculpt away the stubborn fatty tissue between your muscle groups on your abdomen, flanks, upper arms and pecs in order to reveal that hidden torso!

Vaser Lipo Training: Europe’s finest travel to Bedfordshire for Vaser Training

Posted by admin Posted Date: Thursday, 07 October 2010 23:12 PM

Some of the cosmetic industries finest practitioners have been travelling to Bedfordshire to receive training in popular Vaser Lipo-selection from the region’s leading cosmetic expert Dr Ravi Jain.

Dr Ravi Jain, medical director of multi-award winning Riverbanks Clinic in East Hyde, has been firmly at the forefront of Vaser Lipo in the UK and was appointed by Sound Surgical Technoligies earlier this year as a fully certified Vaser Lipo trainer for the whole of Europe.

Spanish surgeon Dr Virginia Benitez Roig recently visited several surgeons in the UK to assess if she should introduce VASER to her Spanish practice and decided to embark on approved Vaser training with Dr Jain.

“Of all the doctors I visited I think that Dr Ravi works better than another ones. It is amazing the way they work.  I think in the future if another doctor coming it is better to do the training with Dr Jain,” says Dr Benitez.

Dr Jain says, “Vaser Lipo-selection is one of the most effective forms of removing fatty areas anywhere on the body. The procedure is performed under local anaesthetic in the clinic and there is minimal downtime with most patients returning to work within a couple of days.”

Vaser Lipo a fully FDA-approved system that has been used extensively in the USA for over 4 years and is endorsed by well respected surgeon’s world wide. It has been widely regarded as a superior technology compared with laser lipolysis techniques.

Vaser Lipo uses ultrasound energy rather than laser energy to selectively dissolve the fat cells which allows for gentler suction techniques allowing for more accurate sculpting techniques and less downtime.

Prices for Vaser Lipo at Riverbanks Clinic start from just £1995.

So if you are thinking of a little nip and tuck before this Christmas you know which direction to be heading!

Is Vaser lipo better than Smart lipo?

Posted by admin Posted Date: Wednesday, 23 June 2010 13:24 PM

We’re often asked this question when patients come for their initial consultation, and it’s a valid question!

It’s not a matter of ‘better’ per se; they are very different methods of removing fat from the body. Smart Lipo has some advantages over traditional liposuction, but none over VASER. Vaser works differently in the way that it removes the fat and has more advantages than convention lipo and Smart laser solutions.

Simply put, Smart Lipo uses a laser to break up the fat, whereas VASER Lipo uses ultrasound technology. VASER Lipo has demonstrated excellent recovery times, because it does not damage blood vessels, nerves or connective tissues when it is melting the fat. Also, VASER is much more specific for fat than any other modality. With VASER the surgeon can treat small or large areas whereas Smartlipo is more limited to smaller areas.

VASER Lipo is performed under local anaesthesia and greatly reduce risk and recovery times, compared with traditional liposuction.

Glory Above Credibility?

Posted by admin Posted Date: Monday, 08 March 2010 13:55 PM

Last week I was privileged to be invited to attend a global experts meeting in Miami for a leading dermal filler company. Being the only UK doctor, I was quite apprehensive as the delegate list included doctors whose work I have admired and whose research has paved the way forward for the aesthetic speciality. The meeting was extremely educational on numerous levels and I felt I was able to contribute effectively on several topics.

However I was awestruck by the amount of research each of the American doctors had carried out to help advance our knowledge. The US Food & Drugs Administration (FDA) comes under a lot of criticism there, like the Care Quality Commission has done here in the UK, but what the FDA does create, is a culture to provide good evidence based medicine, more akin to NICE (National Institute of Clinical Excellence) here in the UK.
