For men living with gynecomastia, it can be a highly distressing condition. Although recently people have spoken in humour about man boobs or ‘moobs’, men who suffer from this condition can lead very unhappy and unsatisfactory lives. We also know that it is difficult enough to encourage men to see a normal doctor, so the idea of sending him off to have invasive surgery such as liposuction is near impossible. But Vaser Liposuction (or Lipo) is a non-invasive procedure that could change those men’s lives that live everyday with uncharacteristic breast enlargement.
So, what is Vaser Lipo? In the simple terms, it is a minimal-invasive procedure that removes fatty areas by using ultrasound technology to break down fatty deposits, which once turned into liquid are drained away by a cannula (a type of needle).

Call them what you like – male breasts, man boobs, moobs, whatever – the simple fact is that they’re embarrassing and most men who have them would like to get rid of them.
At Riverbanks Clinic we’ve been treating male patients for gynecomastia (that’s the technical term!) since we opened, with fantastic success rates.

Just thought I’d share my experience with all as am thrilled with results!

For many years I had suffered in silence and became increasingly more conscious about my man-boobs, particularly as the left one was larger than the right one. I am 38 years old and although, not overweight, I tried dieting and started working out at the gym. After several months, the muscles in my pecs were getting larger, but this only emphasised the size of my moobs as the localised fat there wouldnt shift or reduce, no matter how much I worked out or dieted.
After much research I realised how common this problem actually is and in hindsight the size of my moobs in comparison to some stories and pictures Ive seen were maybe not excessive to other cases Id studied, but to myself they were large enough to cause me personal embarrassment and distress for years. T-shirts, polo shirts and fitted shirts always hung badly on me and made me feel booby and any tops with pocket details were definitely ruled out as this only emphasised my shape. Every time I walked past a shop front window or a mirror I would have to look at my profile or catch my reflection in the window and it was becoming an obsession – an obsession I had to break! Gynecomastia is often referred to as ‘man-boobs’ or ‘moobs’. There are several different forms and it is not always known why it develops. It can be seen in males as young as 9 right through to more elderly gentlemen. It is caused by the abnormal development of the mammary glands (or breast tissue) and can be very tender and uncomfortable.
Depending on the ‘type’ of gynecomastia, there are different treatments that can be undergone to reduce the effects. In young men it often becomes less noticeable and usually disappears entirely as they near their 20s.
In adolescent boys the gynecomastia starts like breast development in girls but stops whilst they are still small. It can appear in the form of a lump or more significant breast development. It is not unusual with over 60% of teenage boys expected to have it in some form. It is usually unnoticeable when wearing clothes and has disappeared by the time they have left puberty. Manboobs can be embarrassing and difficult to live with. The good thing is – you can do something about it.
The reason you have manboobs will determine the action or treatment you need to take. You do not have to live with manboobs forever and you can be free of them very quickly and getting your shape and confidence back before you know it.
If you are a young man in your teenage years and you have found that you have developed a chest the first thing to do is not panic. This actually happens to most young men as they grow up and you will find that over time they will disappear. If you are really concerned then do speak to a parent or physician for support.
Some forms of manboob are the result of the excessive growth of mammary glands usually due to hormonal changes. – Gynecomastia. It is not fully understood why this occurs or what the triggers are for it. If you have been taking medication it is advisable to speak to your GP to clarify if it contains any ingredients which could promote breast tissue growth and seek their advice on where to go from here.
