43% rise in Botox Bookings at Riverbanks Clinic!

Posted by admin Posted Date: Monday, 25 January 2010 18:26 PM

Despite the financial pressures brought about by the recession, it seems that patients are still keen to keep up their beauty regime with regular doses of Botox as a top UK clinic reveals it was the most popular treatment of 2009.

Bookings for Botox-type treatments including Azzalure® and Botox® were up 43% compared to 2008 at the multi-award winning Riverbanks Clinic in Harpenden, with other common treatments such as Fillers, used to treat fine lines in the face increasing by 11% as well as the demand for Skin Care prescriptions rising by 26%.

Dr Jain, Medical Director at Riverbanks Clinic believes that their latest figures reflect a rising trend and a new breed of patient who puts skin health as their top priority, recognising that a less invasive but more frequent maintenance programme of treatments can provide much better, long term results.

“Many patients are now beginning to see the real benefits of combining good skin care with regular maintenance treatments for creating a long lasting, natural and radiant appearance. I’ve been telling patients for years that less is more when it comes to cosmetic treatments and the true mark of success is not when friends and family say ‘Wow you look great, whose your surgeon’, but ‘Wow you look so well, have you been on holiday? If administered correctly, Botox and fillers are an ideal way to make subtle changes to the face whilst retaining a natural look,” says Dr Jain.

Don’t rush into stem cell boob jobs!

Posted by admin Posted Date: Tuesday, 22 December 2009 08:44 AM

Following reports that the first UK patient has undergone cell enriched breast enhancement, a leading cosmetic doctor is urging patients to think twice before rushing to book the treatment in 2010 because there is not enough data to prove its long-term success.

The procedure, also known as a Stem Cell Boob Job, involves taking cells and fat from the patient’s body, such as buttocks or thighs, and injecting it into the breast to increase their size. The chemical-free treatment claims to be permanent and requires no top up sessions. On paper it seems like the perfect treatment, but cosmetic expert Dr Ravi Jain is advising patients to wait for more data to become available before deciding whether or not to have what is being billed as the latest cutting-edge cosmetic treatment.

“Almost all of the best cosmetic treatments currently available are actually 3rd or 4th generation versions of earlier treatments which have been refined and improved over time and as more data became available. Stem cell-based beauty treatments are certainly going to be big in the future but the treatment is still in its infancy, and in my opinion, has at least another 12-18 months of modification ahead of it,” says Dr Jain.

Behind every successful cosmetic business you’ll find a host of happy customers and multi-award winning cosmetic clinic Riverbanks is no different after their latest patient survey revealed that 95% of patients were extremely satisfied by the end of their consultation at the discreet Harpenden clinic.

Riverbanks Clinic is renowned for its high standard of patient care, top calibre doctors and tranquil location and its latest patient survey conducted last month revealed that every patient questioned had an excellent consultation with a doctor who was ‘polite and considerate and very good at listening to what they had to say’.

The survey of 20 patients from a spectrum of age groups also revealed that they were not only satisfied with the opportunity to ask questions but also the ability to receive answers to all their questions. They also stated that each doctor was very clear by explaining in the way they can understand and the patients were allowed to be involved in as much as they wanted to be when it came to decisions about their care and treatment. Dr Ravi Jain, medical director at Riverbanks Clinic and former Harley Street practitioner is delighted with the results of the survey has urged other cosmetic businesses to focus on customer service as a way of building and maintaining their customer base during a difficult trading period.

Pucker Up As Restylane Delivers Ultimate Lip Service

Posted by admin Posted Date: Wednesday, 12 August 2009 16:13 PM

It’s no secret that soft, sexy, luscious lips drive men wild, so if your lips are in need of a subtle but sensuous boost in time for National Kissing Day on July 6th, help is at hand with the new Restylane Lidocaine lip plumping treatment with added anaesthetic.

Scientists have long known that gorgeous, plump lips greatly enhance the sexual attractiveness of a woman, so it is not surprising that Angelina Jolie was voted the sexiest woman on earth for her voluptuous pout. But for those who are not naturally blessed with a killer set of lips that would leave any man trembling, as Angelina clearly has, Riverbanks Clinic has the perfect answer in the form of the new Restylane Lidocaine with added anaesthetic.

“Restylane Lidocaine is a highly effective lip plumping treatment which gives a subtle, natural boost to the lip area. But we are not talking trout pout here, it is a gentle filler that creates fuller lips and helps smooth fine lines around the mouth and now contains local anaesthetic to make the procedure even more comfortable,” says Dr Ravi Jain, Medical Director at multi-award winning non-surgical cosmetic clinic Riverbanks.

Harley Street Cosmetic Expert Heads For The Sticks

Posted by admin Posted Date: Wednesday, 12 August 2009 16:13 PM

A top London non-surgical cosmetic expert is ditching the city lights and moving to multi-award winning Riverbanks Clinic in Bedfordshire following a rise in patients opting to attend an out of town clinic.

Due to unprecedented demand at Riverbanks Clinic, based in East Hyde, Dr Ravi Jain will now be delivering treatments and consultations at the clinic full time, having previously split his time between there and Court House Clinic in London.

Dr Jain, who was described as one of the top three Botox doctors in London, will be heading up the latest non-surgical cosmetic procedures and dermatological treatments at Riverbanks including Botox, VaserLipo, laser resurfacing and body recontouring.

Riverbanks Clinic won ‘Best New Clinic’ and ‘Best Business Development’ at the Aesthetic Medicine Awards 2009 and has seen dramatic growth since the beginning of the year, with bookings for VaserLipo exceeding its most popular treatment Botox by 400%.

“Many patients like the fact that they can come to a clinic that is set in beautiful countryside, with ample parking, the latest treatments and the ultimate discretion. A number of patients have commented on the genuine warmth and friendliness of the staff, some of whom have been there for over six years. Its location beats the hustle and bustle of attending a city-based clinic and that there is much more privacy too, which can often be a major factor for patients when choosing a clinic,” says Dr Jain.

Should an 18 year old be encouraged to have Botox?

Posted by admin Posted Date: Wednesday, 12 August 2009 16:07 PM

You can’t fail to have seen the recent news that a surgically enhanced mother gave her daughter Botox as an 18th birthday present, and for a while we didn’t comment on it, mainly because everyone else did!

But after numerous emails and messgaes, and reading this story where the doctor involved defends his position on choosing to give the Botox, we thought we should let you know Dr Ravi Jain’s thoughts.

“In my professional opinion” said Doctor Jain, “She is too young to have Botox, and the treatment was inappropriate. In addition, it could lead to the young lady developing abnormal perceptions of her body image, as appears to be the case of her mother.”

He goes on to say: “I’ve seen models as young as 18 given breast enhancements, but it would have to be a very convincing argument to convince me that this sort of treatment needs to be given to someone so young”
