Radiesse For Hands

Posted by RaviJain Posted Date: Tuesday, 03 May 2011 08:45 AM

As men and women get older, the skin’s elasticity is gradually lost alongside the reduction of the plumping ingredient collagen, which therefore results in the loosening of the skin all over the face and body. Radiesse is an award winning FDA-approved dermal filler which is designed to plump up the skin, and whilst in the past it has been more associated with facial treatments, this dermal filler is now also being effectively used to plump up the hands, leaving them looking younger than ever before.

Dr Ravi Jain is the co-author of a recent study into the effects of Radiesse, and so far the long term data has proven that this treatment is very effective. Customer satisfaction is very high, with those treated with Radiesse happy with the plumping effects this dermal filler has had on their aging hands.

How to get younger looking hands

Posted by RaviJain Posted Date: Sunday, 07 November 2010 22:57 PM

Today, I presented a lecture on how to achieve younger looking hands, at The Body Conference in London to physicians, surgeons and nurses from all over the world. Here is a brief summary of my talk:

Common problems seen in the ageing hand:

  • Brown spots – hyperpigmentation representing sun damage
  • Wrinkles – representing sun damage which reduces the elasticity of the skin. Wrinkle are also caused by loss of volume to the hands.
  • Bony hands – certain conditions such as osteoporosis cause widening of the joints and muscles waste away, making the hands look bony, and skinny.

Treatments which I use to achieve younger looking hands:

  • IPL – a gentle laser zaps away the brown spots in just 1 or 2 sessions
  • Radiesse – a collagen stimulating dermal filler which requires 1 treatment to plump up the lost volume and give smooth, hydrated skin for up to 1 year.
  • Restylane Vital – hydrating injections of hyaluronic acid which plump the skin, making it very soft and smooth. Requires 3 treatments, and lasts about 6-8 months.

purple rainFor many women, one of the biggest tell-tale signs of age is the hands; we only have to see those images of Madonna’s hands to see how they can be a massive give-away of age. We are all ready to look after our faces with the likes of anti-aging creams, facials and so on, but what about our hands? With a treatment such as Radiesse, hands can look instantly younger, leaving everyone guessing your real age.

So what exactly is Radiesse? Radiesse is an award winning dermal filler which is injected into the hands. This innovative filler not only gives the treated area instant fuller results, but also works with the body to stimulate natural collagen re-growth, giving long-lasting effects (up to a year). Radiesse is more effective compared to other dermal fillers, and is made up of calcium-based microspheres which are suspended in a water-based gel. This means that the solution is 100% biodegradable and absorbs naturally into the body.

Sculptra – the liquid face lift

For many, the idea of undergoing an invasive cosmetic procedure to get a healthier, younger looking face is too extreme. But there is a much more natural, gentle and simple procedure to give women the youthful face they are after. Forget full face lifts, and instead consider Sculptra treatment to enhance and restore youth in the face and body.

Sculptra, also known as the liquid facelift, is a non-invasive cosmetic treatment that helps to restore volume and therefore youth to the face and body. This injectable treatment involves a qualified Sculptra medical professional injecting the natural Sculptra treatment into the areas which need plumping up. Like seeds of collagen, over a few months Sculptra encourages the skin’s natural collagen to grow, plumping up the area to leave a more youthful skin.

Sculptra is a treatment which can be ideal to smooth, fill out and repair all sorts of facial and bodily problem areas. The most common areas for women of all ages include sagging jowls, hollow cheeks and deep folds and wrinkles, which all age the skin, leaving it looking unhealthy, tired and old. Other areas where Sculptra can help are wrinkly hands and chest area, and acne scarring, all of which can reduce the confidence all women should have about their body.

How to rejuvenate ageing hands

Posted by admin Posted Date: Monday, 17 May 2010 13:08 PM

For some people ageing hands are a very serious and worrying part of their body. Sometimes the loss of firmness and volume can leave your hands looking worn, aged and weak. It can make you feel self conscious and nervous about yourself. In some cases you might even try to cover your hands with gloves or clothing.

However, there is a method which can significantly reduce the effects of ageing hands. Up until now the procedures involved in rejuvenating ageing hands were not ideal. No specific technique has worked perfectly and methods are often intrusive and very painful. But there is an option which is realistic and non-invasive.

In this article we’re going to look at the treatment of Radiesse. The treatment itself contains a dermal filler which consists of calcium hydroxylapatite. The CaHA is injected into the skin and then moulded into place. The affects of the procedure are noticed immediately and do not require constant visits and follow up treatments.

Younger looking hands in half an hour?

Before Radiesse

They do say that the main thing that gives away the age of a woman is her hands. Think back to all the stories about Madonna and her youthful looks – her face looks great but her hands are definitely showing signs of aging.

But it needn’t be that way.

This article in the Daily Mail tells us:

As well as the passage of time, sun is the main culprit when it comes to ageing our hands, closely followed by that familiar old enemy, smoking.

Anything that dries the skin, such as extreme cold or using lots of cleaning products, also hastens the ageing process.

Reading the article, we’ve no doubt that the process written about works, but our very own Dr Ravi Jain would rather recommend Radiesse.

He says:

We use Radiesse (and have been doing so for over 1 year). Results last well for a year and it is relatively pain free with only 4-5 injection sites needed unlike some other procedures. Patients love it!
